Romantic Valentines Day Makeup Tutorial

Valentines day means candy, flowers, looking & feeling pretty, and romantic dinners. For the love birds, this day symbolizes love, appreciation, and affection. For the single ladies, you can bring out the bold colors and vixen heels to have a fun and glamourous night out.  When it comes to a date night look, less is more! It's all about enhancing what your your guy loves most about your natural look.  Today I wanted to share with you a simple youthful, soft, and beautiful,  makeup tutorial for this special day.

Remember, you want to look pretty and tasteful; fun and flirty; sexy but not sleazy; radian but not glittery; delicate but not invisible.

PRODUCTS USED:
Guerlain Parure De Lumiere Light Deiffusing Foundation
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer
Lancome & BH Cosmetic Palette
L.A Colors Jumpo Eye Pencil in Pretty in Pink
Urban Decay Cream shadow in Starlight
Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eyeliner
Nars Blush in Orgasm
Maybelline Lipstick in Pink Please
Victorias Secret Lipgloss in Be Jeweled
Start out by applying primer to your eyelids. Apply Urban Decay Starlight onto the inner lid area. Use a fluffy brush, fill the rest of your eyelids with a shimmer light pink color, blending in with the first color.  Line your lids with the jumbo cream pencil and use a small brush to apply a brighter pink on top to bring out the centers of your eyelids.
Define the crease by applying a metallic subtle purple (I'm using zip me up by Lancome) on the outer corner of the eye in a horizontal V shape.  Blend off the harsh edges with your blending brush. Line your upper eyelids with black eyeliner and apply mascara.

You can simply curl your lashes or add false lashes like I did. Line the lower lash line with a brown pencil, apply blush and your favorite lipstick - I prefer something hydrating and softly tinted =)

Guerlain 'Parure de Lumiere' Light Diffusing Foundation SPF 25

The quest to find the perfect foundation for me has come to an end...for now, at least.   Makeup Forever foundation has always been my favorite foundation out of the bunch but I was always on the hunt for most natural looking foundation. So, I finally decided to try something different, Guerlain 'Parure de Lumiere' Light Diffusing Foundation - a moisturizing foundation and light diffuser.  I instantly fell in love with this wonderful product!

Guerlain 'Parure de Lumiere' Light Diffusing Foundation has the perfect balance between lightweight and pigment rich. It  infuses your skin with hydration, increasing luminosity and radiance - providing full coverage yet feel so light on the skin. The staying power is very impressive itself and I love how it gives a great "glow" that I've always wanted.   It's a miracle product for me to say the least. I've been using this product for a month now and it is the best foundation I have ever owned!

This is without any primer or finishing powder. My blemishes and sun spots are completely covered. You'd never guessed how bad my sun spots are. Guerlain to me couldn't be more perfect. As long as they keep making it, I'll keep buying it!

Red Lips for Fall - neutral eye makeup tutorial

This fall, let's venture into something a little more daring, go for for red  . It's festive, elegant, chic, and oh-so-fall. Don't know your shade? No worries! With so many different red lipstick on the market, there's something to smile about. When picking the correct shades, deeper red will compliment a darker skin tone while bright reds are best for fair skinned women. The number one rule when wearing red lipstick is to keep your makeup neutral. You too can pull off a bold red lip flawlessly in just a couple of minutes. Once you've found your perfect shade, follow these simple steps for a fresh, subtle face makeup that will allow your lips to be the biggest statement of the night.

let's get started...

As always, start by applying primer evenly all over your eyelids. Using an eye-shadow crease brush, place your favorite shade of matte earth-tone eye-shadow into the top crease of the eye, making sure to stay within the crease. Using a fluffy blending brush, gently blend out the shadows, smoothing out any harsh lines. We will not be applying any eye-shadows to the lids since we are trying to achieve the clean, fresh look. Now, line your eyes with your favorite black liquid/gel liner. Feel free to go for a thick and bold winged look. Since the face makeup is simple, having bold eyeliners on will emphasize your eyes.

It's time for false lashes. False lashes will provide length and volume to your natural lashes and make your eyes pop.

Apply a slight coat of mascara to your bottom lashes, make sure not to be heavy handed as we are trying to achieve the more natural look. Highlight your brow bones and we are done with the eyes.

Let's not forget to contour since it is an important step in certain features on your face stand out. When contouring, look for a color that is a shade darker than your than your base color. Using an angle contouring brush, swirl your brush to pick up the product and dabbed it on the back of your hand to make sure you are using just enough to build a subtle shadow. Apply the bronzer diagonally under your cheek bones, on your jaw lines and under your chin. Blending here is key. Apply a light pink blush to your cheeks just above where you applied the bronzer.

Time to glamour yourself up with the perfect red lipstick. Before applying  your lipstick, make sure to prime your  lips with lip balm. We definitely do not want draw any attentions to cracks or flakes.

Here are some photos of the finished look...
